Penny Wise
For ages 8–11 years
PENNY WISE is ten. She wants to know what ‘money’ is really about and why grown-ups make such a fuss about it. So she decides to find out more and keeps a journal of her discoveries...

The ‘Penny Wise’ books develop the pupil’s interest and awareness of personal finance issues through Penny’s eyes as she writes about, and illustrates, her own experiences of money, its effect on her and her family, and her attempts to make sense of it. The books are fun, amusing and entertaining.

All children aged 5 years will now have a Child Trust Fund, or will shortly be starting one. This booklet is an entertaining short story, produced in words and pictures, which explains what the Child Trust Fund is and covers such issues as saving and looking after money. There are free notes for teachers with ideas about how to make use of the resource in the classroom, and also notes for parents. Children’s Centres and schools may wish to buy in the booklet and give them out to parents, with the free notes.

The booklets are sold in packs of 10, with generous discounts. There is a separate order form for this resource (see below).
