This booklet is an entertaining short story, produced in words and pictures, which explains what the Child Trust Fund is and covers such issues as saving and looking after money. 	Penny Wise For ages 8–11 years PENNY WISE is ten. She wants to know what ‘money’ is really about and why grown-ups make such a fuss about it. So she decides to find out more and keeps a journal of her discoveries... The ‘Penny Wise’ books develop the pupil’s interest and awareness of personal finance issues through Penny’s eyes as she writes about, and illustrates, her own experiences of money, its effect on her and her family, and her attempts to make sense of it. The books are fun, amusing and entertaining. Each book addresses elements of the Financial Capability strand of the PSHE curriculum, and aims to develop pupil’s knowledge and understanding of financial issues through a range of activities. These include: • specific PSHE activities; • additional activities linked to other curriculum subjects, e.g. Literacy; • homework activities; • self-assessment sheets.
